We are now certified ISO 20121

We are glad and proud to announce that our museum is, as of June of 2024, certified ISO 20121 for its events business!

This international standard, concerning the events sector, confirms our responsibilities to host events in a more sustainable way, and to always be respectful of the environment while doing so. It rewards our work and willpower towards making practical sustainable systems for all occasions.

What is the ISO 20121 STANDARD?

“ISO 20121 is a beacon for sustainable event management, guiding organizations to seamlessly integrate sustainability into every facet of their event planning and execution.” It aims to minimise the economic, social, and environmental consequences of an event to make it more sustainable.

OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS CERTIFICATION

The process began in early 2022 by the diagnosis of our systems, the interviews of various concerned parties, the training of Sustainable Development consultants, and the clear definition of our goals and concerns. Thereafter, we set up a sustainable management system, announced our goals and values, as well as our sustainable development policy. Then, we established procedures, and an action plan to ensure we reached our objectives and followed the standard’s requirements.

TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

This accomplishment is the fruit of long collective labours and of a continuous commitment from our team. Being certified is an important step, but our journey has just started. The management system based on the ISO 20121 standard is constantly evolving, which pushes us to improve as well. As such, we will continue to enhance our systems, and to search for innovative solutions towards hosting events in our museum more sustainable.
