A dream summer at the Pavillons de Bercy

At the museum

Do You Know the Story of the Pavillons de Bercy?
Our museum is home to many of them…

First, there’s the story of the buildings themselves, of this cobbled neighborhood with its rich past. In the 19th century, Bercy was the world’s largest wine market. The streets echoed with the sounds of barrels rolling, merchants bargaining, and music drifting from local guinguettes.

Then there’s the story of Jean Paul Favand, the museum’s founder: a colorful character, former actor, passionate antiques dealer, and a 76-year-old child at heart. A man who gave a second life to hundreds of objects from the world of entertainment and celebration.

Our museum is also a treasure trove of stories—stories told by the fascinating objects that fill its rooms. Joyful memories, festive echoes, playful nods to imagination and wonder.

Want to discover these stories? Book your visit!

Our guided tours, offered daily in French and three times a week in English, invite you to dive into these unusual tales. To truly bring the stories to life, the tours are led by experienced performers who are passionate about the world that unfolds within these walls.

Tours are available year-round, but our gardens are never the same from one season to the next.
This summer, admire sunflowers, cannas, alpine roses, agapanthus, tiger lilies, abelias, and many more blooms. Nature thrives here, and a majestic canopy of century-old trees provides welcome shade over the cobblestones during the summer heat.
