Le Festival du Merveilleux, a must-do outing during the holidays in Paris

At the museum

An enchanting place for the 2022 holiday in Paris

The Festival du Merveilleux is taking place from December 26th 2022 to January 2nd 2023. A week of enchantments to extend the whimsical festive season. Usually accessible throughout guided tours, this is the only time of the year visitors can enjoy the museum at their own pace. They will discover the unique and exceptional heritage preserved in each room of the museum but will be also able to attend multiple shows.

The theme of this year’s event is the living culture of the fairground, an intangible heritage. Buy your tickets now to be part of the party!

Enjoy the living culture of the fairground

Since many years, the museum preserves the material heritage of the fairground, symbol of an era. Through those objects, it’s the spirit of the entire culture of the funfair that is brought to life by the museum. A well-known fact: we learn better with experience. This applies for the living culture of the fairground as much as anything else. Here at the museum, we use objects for what they are made for: wonder.

During the Festival du Merveilleux, the intangible part of funfair takes on a its true meaning. Some unique animations and performances will amaze everybody in this warm and festive atmosphere.

The museum’s private garden will be dressed in magical illuminations and visitors will be able to enjoy a glass of mulled wine or a bowl of steaming onion soup.

Shows and performances for kids and grown-ups

During the Festival, plenty of performances are held in the heart of the museum. Short shows are presented to the visitors to bring back the buzz of ancient fairgrounds. Aerial danse, immersive shows, revival of La Goulue, outdoor parade of a giant puppet… Let yourself get overwhelmed by that joyfulness.

To be sure to feel the same energy as the past, a small selection of attractions and merry-go-round will be brought back to life. With each ticket entrance, you’ll be handed 2 free attraction tickets that can be exchange to do some rides or games.

To make sure you get a bit of magic this year, buy your tickets today.
